Domain Registry of America Scam

These letters appear at first glance to be a domain renewal notice but they are infact offers to transfer your domain name to another registrar, the Domain Registry of America in this case. If you take up the offer you will lose any free services that we currently provide you and you will incur higher renewal fees than we currently charge.

If your domain name is registered with us we will send you renewal notices by email which will be clearly marked as having come from us. These emails contain a link to the renewal page. Reminders are sent 2 Months in advance, 1 Month, 2 Weeks, 1 Week and on the day of Expiry.

The Domain Registry of America, Domain Registry of Europe and EU Registry Services obtain contact information through the publicly accessible WHOIS database, and send renewal notices through the post.

We would suggest that you ignore these transfer requests and either renew with us or transfer to another provider of your choice. The reason we suggest this is that the Domain Registry of America have already had a court injunction against them with regard to domain name reselling.
